Marathon Diary 4 - Days to go - 32

Training OK but fundraising behind schedule -
The NSPCC run projects and services all over the country which prevent cruelty to children, protect vulnerable children, and help children overcome the effects of cruelty. These children don't deserve to live in fear. Please, help us towards our target if you can and help stop cruelty - full stop!
Still a long way to go - run fat boy run!

March - Week 2

  • Fundraising to date: £786.20 (Target - £2000.00 - need a lot more, please donate if you can )
  • March week 2 training: 2 x 5 miles easy, 1 x 5 miles speed, 1 x long run = 33.4 miles total (Not bad but missed a 5 miler in the week!)
  • Longest run: 18.4 miles - 2 hours 59 minutes (Longest yet!)
  • Condition: Tired but happy, next long one is 20+, a big psychological barrier to break through or just another 15 - 20 minutes of running?.

Creeping up to the magic 20 mile barrier now. Trying for 22 miles in a couple of weeks and then I begin to taper down to the big day on April 22nd. Saw my doctor who gave me some pain killers in case the dreaded back ache returns but I only want to use them as a last resort, prefer to feel what's going on with the old body if possible.
Many thanks to COOK Food for their generous donation of £50.00 in vouchers. This is now first prize in the upcoming "Guess My Time" game here at Calverley House. Many thanks also to office neighbours David Curry of RAD Electrical Services and Roger Walsh of CRIF Solutions for their recent online donations. Two very generous chaps who deserve a mention.
We're having a boot sale in a couple of weeks time, to clear the stuff in the garage that I kid myself we need but will probably never use which will hopefully push the total up over the £1000.00 mark and onwards to our £2000.00 target.
Any ideas for fundraising activities much appreciated dear reader - please feel free to drop me a line.

Go on - spare a bit for Team GO!

Please help Holman Design to support the NSPCC, the UK's number one children's charity and help wipe out child abuse - Full Stop!
